FAVORITE HEROINE WINNERS ARE

our USA winners

LENNA FROM OREGON

1. My favorite heroine is Gillyane Murray MacEnroy. She is the one who I have remembered throughout your series and just love it when you revisit her.

2. Her book was Highland Bride released October 1, 2002. I eagerly anticipate your next release each time and buy it usually at Walmart the day it's released. With you not having a e-mail newsletter it has been a challenge to keep track of them but I waded through your website to keep track and checked back often. Thank you so much for updating it. It looks great. Thank you for posting your releases for the year in an easier format and having an e-mail list to keep us up to date.

3. The why: She is so strong, creative, practical problem solver and sensual. She thinks outside the box in a very real world. Her taking on life going off to her home inheritance without waiting for her life-mate to show up and then defending it in creative ways was memorable (the shit covered entry floor). And then taking her marriage into her hands and seducing her husband... Then you have her show up in later books with more of the same. Remember I have not reread the book since it was released in 2002.

MELISSA FROM  ALASKA

This was a hard one for me. I liked all the books that I have read by you. I have even reread them at least 2 or 3 times. But the two that I keep going back to over and over again are Highland Vow and Highland Knight. Both stories just reach to me for some reason or another. I had to reread them again to see which of the two I liked the most and I am still really at a lost on which one. Elspeth was caring for the hurt no matter what. I like to help people out as much as possible even if it will put me in a bind so that book sorta connected with me.

But after rereading them and thinking about both stories I did come to a decision finally. If I had to choose just one. Avery in Highland Knight stands out the most. She gave up a lot and she showed Cameron that girls/women can do just about everything as well as a guy could. She tried to escape even though she knew it was not possible. She didn't give up on her belief of her brother being innocent of what he was accused up. She stood up for him. When Avery did escape she went back to warn Cameron of them going to be attacked. She gave up that chance of her freedom to protect others. In your book she stated "I may wish to be free, but nay at the cost of others' lives." Avery had a heart for others and a concern for all of them.

She went in after Donald when no one else did. She risked her life to save his. Yeah Gillyanne had to help get her back into shore after Avery got Donald to shore. But I believe Avery knew what she risked when she went in after Donald. That was the risk of her life to save another. Avery stood up for what she believed even if it was at the risk of losing her life she was still stubborn and did it anyways. It paid off in the end.

She escaped a second time and left Gillyanne behind. She knew Gillyanne would be safe with Cameron and his people and only risked her own life by setting out on her own. She left on foot with very little not really knowing how far away from home she was. Yeah Cameron caught up to her and caught her again. She didn't fight it either. She knew when to pick her fights. She had her pride to.

Avery worked on getting all the information she could from Cameron's sister , Katherine, before Payton got there. To help prove his innocence. She was able to inform Payton of what they did find out. That helped him out trying to figure out the rest of who was responsible.

Avery is my heroine because she always thought of others before herself. She risked her life and she risked her heart for others. Others came first to her. So because of her putting others first and risking her life for others i had to pick Avery. She risked the most in my eyes. And she risked it a few times in the book. So Avery was chosen for me.

HOWEVER WE HAVE AN HONORABLE MENTION

FROM JOY

I guess my favorite heroine is Scarlett from Gone With The Wind. Scarlett, for all of her foibles and character flaws functioned on hope. She always had faith that she would get through any obstacle and if she didn't she would find another way. But in the back of her mind, she always had hope that things would get better.
